Kiki Kikker - De Spetterende Reis Naar De Zwijnenheuvel - Children book for swimming lessons
This is one of the many projects I have worked on during my time at 8D Games. Now that I have taken the time to upload a large amount of them it's making me proud to see what we have accomplished during this time.
My role was bassicly to do all the art for the studio as their only inhouse artist. During this time I have met great people and had the privilage to work with a lot of talented interns as well that helped me crank through these projects as well.

To cut corners because of a relatively low budget I tried a new approach, instead of making seperate illustrations, I made one way bigger. This was more complex ofcourse, but it saved a tremendous amount of time in rendering and overhead.
Example pf how this approach worked. You see where the pages are cropped from the whole.
We needed to make the assets swapable so we could toggle them on/off for every unique page illustration.
Also a diving screen has been made. Children need to be able to dive through a hole underwater for their swimming degree's.
And ofcourse there are some rewards for the children to prove they have achieved a certain degree within the training.
This is where the children can put the rewards as soon as they collected them.
The book can be folded back in so it's compact and storable like a regular book on the bookshelve!
